Santipur Marami is a social welfare organization established on 12th April 2011 with 15 founder members comprising mostly retired persons. View was to uplift downtrodden people on Health, Education and Environment issues. It tried to help the people through different programs like Cornea Collection, Eye Checkup Clinic, Thalassemia Testing, Cancer Awareness, Stem Cell Donor Registration, Cyber Crime Awareness, Snake Bite Awareness, Sports Kit Distribution, Ration Distribution, House Repairing, Library Setup, Book publication and many more.
Now it has got License for Eye Collection Center bearing license no EDC/62/2022 dated 10/01/2022 and extablished another unit of Santipur Marami -'AJOY DE MEMORIAL EYE COLLECTION CENTRE'. As a result of which it can collect corneas through the trained members of Santipur Marami to fulfil the great last wish of a person.
It is registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961 on 10th February 2012 and registration number is SO188056 of 2011-2012 (legacy registration number –S/1L/88056).
It has 12A and 80G approval of Income Tax Department under Income Tax Act 1961 since 04/01/2019. On account of that any person can avail income tax exemption towards their donation at our fund.
It is also registered on Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India for CSR activities and NGO DARPAN portal, Govt. of India.
It is our main programme. Since 2014 we have collected 283 corneas. About 98% has been transplanted and rest are used as research work.
In every year we organize one camp for each of most school under Santipur Police Station. It is our vission eradicate Thalassaemia from Santipur.
Blood Stem Cell replacement is a part of modern treatment like Blood Cancer, Thalassaemia etc. We register the donor with collaboration of DATRI.
We arrange awareness programme on importance of trees through cultural progamme at public places.
Generally we encourage the puples of surrounding schools on observance of World Environment Day. We distribute some saplings among them.
