Thalassaemia Awareness

Thalassemia is one of the inherited diseases of blood. It causes due to abnormality of hemoglobin of red blood cells. Hemoglobin carries oxygen to all the cells of the body. Defected hemoglobin carries less oxygen to cells. As a result of less oxygen energy produces less amount. It is called as anemia. This anemia leads to different disease and as well as leads to death.

Thalassemia can be prevented through preventing marriage with both thalassemia carrier boys and girls. So awareness is must. For this reason Santipur Marami has started Thalassemia Awareness Programme among the students and general people before marriage. Till date we have made aware about 30000 people.
