Kalikrishna Bhattacharya was born on 3rd September 1887 in a famous Pandit family. His ancestor Ramram Tarrka Panchanan was a Pandit of Nadiaraj Krishna Chandra. His grand-father Paramananda Bidyabagis was a famous Speaker and Pandit. His father Sital Chandra Bhattacharya was a honest priest and was attached with Bangio Puran Parishad. Kalikrishna was the second of eight sons of his parent. They lived at Baganchra, under Santipur Police Station.
Kalikrishna was a good student and achieved scholarship after passing entrance exam. He acquired MA (English) in 1908 and Bachelor of Law in 1910.
He was awarded as ‘Gitabhushan’ after composing Srimat Bhagawat Gita as prose. He wrote ‘Shantipur Parichay 1st & 2nd part (Combined) and 3rd Part which is a history of Santipur. He was died on 24th September 1970.
Shree Kalikrishna Bhattacharya Memorial Awards for Highest Marks in Madhyamik Examination in Santipur Police Station area schools. It is introduced in the year 2016.
